Install Mac OS X 10.6 on VMWare 7

It's very simple! Follow me! ^^

1. Preparation
- Space more than 30G
- VMWare 7
and...

- vmware-darwin-200.zip [↓down]
- darwin-wks7.zip [↓down]
-  snowleopard_10a432_userdvd.iso (snowleopard_10a432_userdvd.dmg.torrent [↓down] ; it must be converted to iso file type, dmg2iso or UltraISO can be used.)


2. darwin.iso
- unzip wmware-darwin-200.zip and darwin-wks7.zip
- copy darwin.iso file in darwin-wks7 folder and overwrite into vmware-darwin-200 folder
- goto wmware-darwin-200 folder in the Command Prompt and execute setup.cmd install command


3. Mac OS X Virtual Machine
- choose Custom, Guest Operating System: Other, Version: FreeBSD 64-Bit and default setting for others or whatever you want (eg, Virtual Machine Name: snow leopard)
- exit VMWare
- open vmx file (eg, snow leopard.vmx) in the new VM folder, modify the guestOS line as below, than save it.
   guestOS="FreeBSD 64-Bit"
   ==>
   guestOS="darwin10-64"


4. Install Mac OS X 10.6
- open VMWare, change CD/DVD's [connection] info to [Use ISO image file] than select snowleopard_10a432_userdvd.iso file
- start the virtual machine
- set a partition by default and install
- OK!!!
- do Software Update... on your Mac


5. Additional software and settings
- Sound: download EnsoniqAudioPCI_1.0.2.mpkg.tar.gz file from http://cafe.daum.net/comsanasa/6pzN/14, upzip, install the package by double click
- goto [System Preferences]-[Energy Saver], set Computer sleep and Display sleep to Never.
- change CD/DVD iso file to darwin.iso in vmware-darwin-200 folder, install Install VMware Tools package.


6. XCode
- change CD/DVD iso file to snowleopard_10a432_userdvd.iso, install Xcode.mpkg

  1. One note you might want to clarify -- the "execute setup.cmd install" step must be done as administrator or the script will be unable to write the necessary files.
